Look UP and Feel Better

Look UP, feel better and look confident!

As daylight savings time shifts back, we find cooler and darker days amongst us. Many people consciously and sub-consciously get ready to hibernate for several months in the northern hemisphere.

Have you noticed that people’s postures change when they are facing the cold? It seems very natural to hunch down and protect ourselves from the elements; carrying weighted back packs and loaded down with extra clothing.

I understand, and I sometimes fall into this pose myself.

Posture is KEY for confidence and leadership; a recipe for success!

What’s interesting about this posture is that your eyes are drawn downwards. Your eyes, the windows of the soul, are not able to see the horizon, opportunities and what’s lying ahead.

There’s a lot of inner tightness and ‘closing off’ that happens in this posture. If one is unable to ‘shake this off’, this could be leading to sadness and depression.

I notice more depression at this time of year, as I observe and dissect people and their behavior’s. Many contributors for sadness at this time of year include: less sunshine, decline of outdoor activities, lack of companionship, additional ‘screen time’, and even, pressure about the upcoming holidays.

Remember our challenge?
Step up and BE 1% better each day. Aim for just 1%, your vibration will be higher and things will get better
!

Well, here’s your challenge today:

– I’d like you to test this – walk with eyes looking UP! Yes, easy to do for a minute. Yet, tougher to create a habit!

(Try to NOT look at the floor all the time!)

When you look up, notice your posture straightens, there’s better balance, your neck won’t ache so much. You’ll be able to see ahead, be more optimistic and even grasp opportunities as they appear!

Feel the difference between looking down and looking up-and-out. You’ll experience small changes; one of the rewards will be less stress during the day. You’ll sense an optimistic attitude, better coping skills, and patience; cultivating more joy and happiness.

This season, let’s make that 1% choice to look upwards and onwards into the future. We’ll connect with friends and family with ease, feeling pleasant, kind and giving.

Looking forwards to a magical season ahead.  – Kathryn
