Windows Help to SEE

Today, we’ll talk about windows.

In Feng Shui theories, windows are the voices of the children.

Many times when I visit homes, I find the shades are drawn blocking out the sun. Occasionally, I suspect they are permanently closed for privacy!
At a recent home visit, all the blinds in the dining room and living areas were closed. I asked if they could open the blinds so we could ‘see better’, and i waited. The couple searched for several minutes for a remote control to open the blinds! As I stood waiting in the L-shaped living/dining room I was thinking of the children; one was destined to go to medical school, the other wanted to be a professional hockey player, yet, their vision was compromised. Hmm.

When the blinds finally opened to let in the light, the gentleman nodded and smiled.

He was excited and said, “I like this. I like it with the blinds open!”

Considering their habit of living with the blinds down and blocking out the windows, he is actually limiting the children’s voices, opinions and expectations.

Another example about blocking is allowing overgrown bushes to overtake windows or even an entire house. Large bushes and trees can block sunlight if not planted or trimmed properly, allowing people to hide from the world.

And, no one cannot see what’s going on outside in the real world!

Any blockage, anywhere, compromises your phoenix vision. Think about the times you look up from your computer and off into the horizon to stretch into the day’s activities. We experience our thoughts expanding as our brains open up; we need coping skills, sound decisions and say-to-day fulfillment.
There’s always room for daily movement along our journey; and that’s only one way to think, process and move forwards.

Some clients block their windows with bookshelves and giant televisions. Others remodel their homes, forgetting about the importance of windows. I often hear the excuse of, ‘There’s nowhere else to put my giant TV?’

If you’re ok with blocking your windows, that’s fine for now. We all make our own choices.

Today, look around your home and check a few things. Make sure your vision OUT is clear in all rooms. Your blinds should open up each day! Open, and greet the world for a short time will help bring in chi-energy (life force).

Check that your windows can actually open. Your windows should be clean inside and out, and again, the mechanisms and hinges need to be in good working order.

The fall season right now is moving into darker days. We DO need to let the sunlight in. We do need our phoenix vision to process our next move in the journey of life.
And, we do need to allow our children to use their voices in order to learn and grow.
