Ask Kathryn About Feng Shui for Living Rooms & Kitchens

March 8, 2018

A Balanced Home= A Happy Family

Q: Hey Kathryn, I’ve just moved and I was looking at ways to rearrange my living room to use more feng shui. Do you have a book on living rooms and kitchens?
Thanks, Deni

A: Hi Deni! Thanks for your note. Interesting enough, when a home has ‘good feng shui’, it has the ‘feeling’ of grounding, peace, safety, balance and harmony. In many cases, it can be almost undetectable!

My personal book focuses on offices and careers, ‘Practical feng Shui for the Office’ and many of the theories and principles are used for the home. I used to teach ‘Feng Shui: Furniture and Placement’ through the school board, and now, I’m in the process of re-purposing that course and making it available to everyone. Look for Love Your Home- AGAIN  in our Resource Area!

Feng shui begins with energy and purpose. For now, evaluate everything in your living room and kitchen for function and purpose; each item should have its own value in order to stay. Paring things down will help you open more space for you to function better.

I can certainly offer seating arrangements, colours and décor advice for your space. Keep in mind, each individual has different needs and independent lifestyles; while you learn theories, personal interpretation is important for success. Your interpretation of feng shui principles could be different than your neighbors.

If you’d like to discuss your specific issues with me, please send me a note and we can connect: kathryn@kathrynwilking.com

As well, check out my Home Harmony Package for a full house inspection or Love Your Home Again for course lessons. Together we will make a plan for you to live the best way you can.

You too, can have a ‘feng shui day’!

All the best, Kathryn
