Notes about Numbers

Question: How do numbers work in feng shui? Do these numbers work the same as Chinese Fortunes or horoscope? I heard that number 4 is a bad number.

Answer: Numerology is a separate science from feng shui, but many of these core facts are related and put into play. This knowledge can reinforce or help with a task or validate a decision. Each number has aspects similar to the Five Elements Cycle in feng shui, as each carries auspicious traits.

Many Asian cultures do not like the number four as the pronunciation of the number sounds like the word ‘death’ in their language. If you were given the option to live in a ‘death house’ or stay on a ‘death floor’ of a hotel or condo, it just doesn’t sound right. Many western countries are hesitant to use the number 13, believing it is also ‘unlucky’. When you reduce this number 1 + 3 =4, we are all referring to the same ‘unlucky’ number!

Another popular way to use numerology is in business; trying to weigh the odds in order to manipulate success. The address is critical. Many owners will choose to change the address of the business location to be more favorable. For example: an address of 3100 Park Avenue (3+1+0=0 = 4). As mentioned, the number four in many Asian countries is looked upon as ‘unlucky’.

~ If a choice/correction could be made, a quick alteration of the address to add up to 7 – 8 – or 9 is preferred. Therefore, if the number 3105 (3+1+0+5 =9) is available.
Number nine is an auspicious address a it is the ‘highest number available’.

Other trivia: If your home address…
= 1 :  You work and live independently. Great for hobbies and entrepreneurship.
= 2: This is a great ‘couples’ address. Communication and connections.

= 3: This is a home for ‘growth’. Could be about babies, finances, plantings and more. (Lucky 3’s)

= 4: This is a home for ‘stability’. Think – four on the floor! Four sides on each chair, each table, each window…etc.
= 5: This home is Transitional. Leave the past behind as good memories and make plans for the future.

= 6: This is another home for reaching and growing (Lucky 3X 2) You are progressing forwards.
= 7: Heaven sent. This is a great home number for spiritual grown and calm connections.

= 8: This is the infinity number. This house will be about wealth and flow; whatever goes out, comes back around.

= 9: This is the highest single digit of numbers. (Lucky 3X3) This house is about abundance and prosperity! Good things happen here!

Regardless of which number, you house number is an IDENIFICATION tool for all to visit and identify with you.
Keep the walk clean and swept, window clean and shine up your numbers!
