Take Charge and Let GO!

Take Charge and Let GO!

You may have noticed something about the energy around us today…there’s a lot negativity. Many people are anxious and nervous…carrying baggage from the past while worrying about the future. Everything IS changing all around us, and will continue to change, alter and grow along our journey in life.

Feng Shui can help.  It is a positive way of embracing the energy around us, cultivating support where we need it and living in harmony with the environment. For those who don’t know a lot about Feng Shui, I can tell you, this has changed my life. Let it help you change yours.

Letting it GO fits in with the general principles of Feng Shui.  Working through three different levels, you can shake whatever is holding you down and give yourself  a lift.

Here’s what you can do today to Take Charge and begin to LET GO!

The first level is about function and flow; this includes clutter stuff, tidying habits and such. Letting GO of tangible items can be easier for items that have lost their function in the home: articles of clothing that don’t fit, broken things, tools from past hobbies or old sports equipment. Yet, it’s the sentimental items that bring up old wounds and regrets.
Action: Begin with the area(s) that are an eyesore, or just bothering you. You’ll need to set a time limit, as this first task may be hard to stay focused. Even 20-30 minutes will result in a great reward.
Your goal: Remove 27 items from the room. Gift, recycle, trash, donate; make choices that makes sense for you. Why 27? Because twenty-seven is a lucky number. Do this task for three days in a row with a timer, then, you’ll be on a roll to tackle the rest!

The second level is about visuals; it’s about knowing yourself. Surround yourself with things you love, and what can support you through the ups and downs. We are visual people. Letting GO on this level could blocked by hanging onto your ex’s leftovers: clothing, paintings, a nice jacket or discarded computer devices. Holding onto these memories, and the energy these things have will continuously hover like a dark cloud over your head. Dig deeper on this level. If anything in your home provokes a negative memory, it’s time to move things along.
Action: It’s time to look at moving into the future and not dwell in the past. You may decide to replace items by choosing colours, and textiles that make sense for you.
Your Goal: Surround yourself with the things you love. Begin with the rooms where you spend the most time. You get to choose for YOU!

The third level is a higher level involving insight, intuition and perhaps a bit of woo-woo. There are many things that you cannot SEE, yet you can feel. If you ever sense that something ‘isn’t right’, chances are, you are correct! Tapping into your feelings isn’t easy for some people. Pay attention.
Action: You’ll need to be still and quiet for a few minutes; close your eyes and breathe slowly and see if this helps.
Your Goal: Identify any disruptive or negative things in your home and life. Take a closer look at how you feel when you use your senses of vision, touch, hearing, taste and smell. Shift things where you can. This level is constantly evolving into a higher connection; give this a chance to work for you.

Embracing the Art of Feng Shui can become a lifestyle for you as it will evolve along the journey. Feng Shui never goes out of style; it just shifts to embrace the energy as we move through life.
Enjoy the journey wherever it takes you.
