Q: I heard you did a fabulous Wallpaper demonstration last fall. I’m sorry I missed it.

Will you be doing another one? I’ve read instructions on how to do it but I’m scared to get started. I know feng shui like nice clean lines so I’m also wondering if wallpaper is good feng shui.

A: Hi! A loaded question! The wallpaper demonstration was by invitation to the Meet-Ups group, The City Stagers in Vancouver. Yes, it was a lively evening. I will do other presentations as requested to show DIY skills in wallpaper, faux finishing, wood finishing, painting and such from my years working in home improvements.

Wallpaper and any decorative items you bring into the home are okay with feng shui, as long as you have the purpose defined.

• What do you hope to achieve by hanging wallpaper?
• Do the colours and images support your goals in that area?
• Will the energy change from better to worse, or bad to great?
• Will the print chosen overwhelm the room? Think about your other precious treasures and knick knacks; will they be down played with the wallpaper or will they still be able to shine?
