Tune into Your Body Rhythm Cycle

The Body Rhythm Cycle has a schedule for cleansing and repair.

Your Body works all day and night to keep things balanced.

Do you wonder why we are advised to eat a full breakfast in the morning? ~Our bodies have been busy all night!

This is a diagram from the book `Between Heaven and Earth` by Harriet Beinfield and Efrem Korngold, in my personal library. It contains all kinds of goodies about the body and healing process from an east-meets-west philosophy. This is brilliant!

Most of the maintenance responsibilities in our body are given to the liver. Liver function needs to be healthy itself in order to cleanse and repair the other organs. The clock dial tells you where the focus is scheduled for healing and repair in your body. Poor choices of food or time changes in your routine can certainly upset this balance.

In a perfect world, we would go to sleep and get up at the same time, and we would eat enough veggies, carbs and protein to fuel our body in a balanced way. The liver maintence crew would jump-start the digestive system, sort out the vitamins and minerals we need from the waste, and send the rest along to the elimination team… all in perfect rhythm.

What happens when we, (for example) eat too much birthday cake at a picnic?

When you eat cake for dessert, it drops into the stomach onto top of the mixture you ate for dinner. While the digestive enzymes are battling out how to digest the carbs and proteins, the sugar rush hits the pile…and pandemonium breaks out:

There is a lot more sugar to process. Can you imagine a little worker bee down there waving a flag?

“OMG! We need more help deal to with this one! “

A similar thing happens when we consume more alcohol than our body can process. The reality is: alcohol is a poison to our systems. When there is just too much, sometimes the worker bees can open a gate to bypass the digestive process and pee out the evil toxins. Caffeine also acts as a trouble-maker as its presence can vibrate body functions.

Your body is trying to repair and heal itself every night!

When the body needs to correct something `that is out of sync’, it really needs time. If the worker bees don`t have enough time to flush the liver properly and do repairs within a 24 hour clock… it doesn’t get done. Toxins, fats and poisons stay in our body too long and get stored for another shift.  Reality sets in: Breakfast arrives and more nourishment is coming in to process into fuel for the day.

If the cleansing action is disrupted for too many cycles, we get dis-function in many of our body functions.

Do you wake up in the middle of the night and wonder why?

If you are waking up at the same time each night, this diagram will probably tell you which areas more attention to repair at this time.

Knowing that one of your functions needs balance, cleansing, or repair, can lead you to other healthy choices. Not just dietary; you may want to direct your attention to those areas by having a foot massage (reflexology), aromatherapy or acupuncture to help stimulate the areas that need help.

Being kind to your liver and your body involves a 24/7 process. I don’t want to preach that you stop eating birthday cake or consuming alcohol; just be aware of your body rhythms and how they need repair time.

By nurturing a healthy body, you can live long and prosper.

Enjoy your journey through life.
