Practical Steps to Success #7: Visit Your Nucleus, and Get Results

Do you ever find yourself making a decision too quickly? Being pressured to answer a question, sign a contract or delegate tasks all need 100% of your attention. (Particularly when you estimate how many people’s lives could be affected by this one decision.)

In this fast paced world, do we have the luxury of asking for an extra day to think about it? Can you ask for more information or suggest an alternative? Is it possible to change our minds after the decision has been made and sent out to the media? Probably no. Time is a factor, and people do have deadlines.

BUT, you can take 60 seconds to stop, and apply this concept!

Go back to your roots and check in with yourself; another form of mindfulness.

In feng shui, we often rely on intuition: Something doesn’t feel right or something doesn’t seem right.

Bottom line, you have to know your body, your reaction to things and your likes and dislikes. Research and practice has shown we can ‘listen’ to our bodies.

If something is ‘bothering you’, check into your nucleus, the core of your existence;

  • If your chest or gut is tight; there is probably something wrong; delay, ask questions and find out what the catch is. Have you ever experienced; “A gut feeling something was wrong.” I’ll bet those misgivings were correct at the time.
  • If your chest is light, with perhaps a few butterflies; you are excitable, delighted and eager to proceed. You trust this person you are dealing with and this is a good thing.

You can ‘practice’ these sensitivities by testing a few items already in your space.

  1. Stand or sit by a picture or image that you know brings you great joy and happy memories. Look into the picture for a few minutes and feel the changes in your body. You should feel joy, less stress, happiness and contentment. This ‘feeling’ should end up in your chest or heart area; lightness and enjoyment.
  2. Stand or sit by a picture or image that you know you don’t like. It could bring up feelings of unhappy times, disagreements with people in the photo or it could be perceive as ugly in your mind. The ‘feeling’ of discontent will sit in your lower abdomen. This is where you get that ‘gut feeling’ that something is wrong.

Take a look at the nucleus in your home, your body and the centre of your life. Tap into that intuition. These body signals can tell you what is wrong, and what needs to change. Take charger, practise on all kinds of things, clothes, furniture and even food.  If you can experience this ‘body language’ in your own personal space, chances are, you will make sound confident decisions in your work place; and experience greater results.
